With the county roads, school drive and parking areas still being slick as well as ice on the shoulder of 270 highway, we will not have in person school tomorrow. We will stay virtual. Whether we return to in person Friday will Depend on weather tomorrow night.

Due to icy road conditions, there will be no meal service today.

Reminder that we are doing Parent/Teacher conferences virtually. Some of you may have been asked to come in personally. If so, please wear a mask, stay Social Distanced and keep you visit to less than 15 minutes. If you were not asked to come in person, please call your child's teacher if they haven't contacted you. Thank you.

Last call for basketball playoff t-shirt orders. If you wish to order a shirt please call the school by 2:00 p.m today.

With the high number of staff and students who are positive or having to quarantine due to COVID, Stuart School will be virtual through Wed, Feb 10. Students will return on Thursday, Feb 11.

At this time, we have confirmation of a few new cases. As of yesterday, 3rd Grade and Pre-k have positive cases. After contact tracing there was interaction between those classes and KG and 4th grade during PE. We also got confirmation of positive staff that would have effected KG and grade 1. To be as informative as possible without violating HIPPA, we have other certified and non certified staff that are positive but would not effect any students as they are not in close contact with students for 15 minutes. At this time the following classes will be quarantined through Sunday, Feb. 7th, if they have a negative test on Friday or Saturday and no symptoms, or until Wed. Feb. 10 with no test and no symptoms. Other individual students have been or will be contacted by phone. PK, KG, 01, 03, and 04. With that said, we can't stress enough that you should have your child tested if they are symptomatic and not simply keep them home and send them back to school when they feel better. We have several students and staff with compromised immune systems and we owe it to them and every other student and staff to be vigilant in stopping the spread of this virus.

If you want meals, please call. We need to get a count so we know what to prepare. We need everyone who wants meals for their children to call. If you have younger children at home, let us know as we will provide them a meal as well.

If you want meals over the next 4 days, we have pick-up or delivery. We will deliver along our bus routes. If the bus passes your house but you bring your child, we will deliver there as well. If you get on at a bus stop, we will deliver there as well. Please contact the school by 3pm today if you want meals delivered or will be picking them up. We will leave school at 11:00am each day to deliver, or meals may be picked up between 11am and noon.

The high school games tomorrow against Caney have been canceled.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we have several more students and staff positive today. We have had to quarantine 2 elementary classes and we have nearly half of our entire student body either quarantined or positive at this time. After today, We will be virtual for the remainder of the week. Students will bring devices home on the bus or will have them upon parent pick-up today. We will reevaluate on Friday as to whether we will be virtual next week as well. If your child has any symptoms, please consider testing them. We believe this is spreading as students feel bad one day and stay home only to return the next day. Please help us ensure the safety of your children and all the other children and staff. If your child has a positive test, or is exposed to someone who is positive, please contact the school. Thank you for you help prayers!

Tupelo 5-6 and 7-8 girls have positive COVID cases so our games today are canceled.

Our 5/6 grade basketball teams will play at Tupelo on 2/1/2021 @ 4:30 p.m. The bus will leave @3:00 p.m. and should return back to Stuart between 6:30 - 7:00 p.m.
Our JH will play at Tupelo at 6:00 p.m. and the bus for them will be leaving around 4:30 p.m.

OSSAA BASKETBALL GUIDELINES FOR PLAYOFFS....
https://5il.co/p23f

Sorry for some misinformation. KTC guidelines require their students to go virtual if the home school goes virtual. They just contacted us and said their students will need to do their work online and will be counted absent if they do not log in.

Any students who are virtual the next two days and attend Career Tech may still ride the bus to school in the mornings but will need someone to pick them up at school by noon those 2 days, or they may drive to Career Tech on their own.

Due to the number of staff and students having positive COVID tests, our grades 7-12 will be virtual this Thursday (tomorrow) and Friday. These students share classrooms and teachers so that is why those classes have been targeted. Our Elem classes share the cafeteria, but it is sanitized prior to each group using it so we feel they are safe to be in school. If you have students in both PK-6 and 7-12, please let us know if you are keeping the younger ones home. We will also need you to contact us if you want meals as we will deliver meals on the evening bus route and will need someone to meet us to pick up the food. Please call by 9am tomorrow if you want meals delivered. If any student who will be virtual was absent today and needs a device for distant learning, please call and we will get it ready to be picked up. Sorry for any inconvenience.
