After the covid-19 restrictions are over, we will have a graduation ceremony. If you owe a bill for your cap/gown and announcements, you need to call the school to find out your balance and either pay online or pay here at school. If you have not ordered a cap and gown, then you need to do that also. Again, we will have a graduation ceremony as soon as the covid-19 restrictions are lifted.

If your child is using IXL for their home curriculum, you will notice that all stats have been cleared. This will allow all students to go back and review concepts they had previously covered.

We are working on building teacher pages for our online learning students. We hope to have all of them up and going by Monday morning. When you go to our web page you can click "menu" then scroll down to the "Teacher Resources for Online Learning" section and there you will be able to select your child's teacher and view the assignments they have listed. If your child does not know their IXL or Study Island username or password you may call the office and we will get that information for you.

Distance Learning Letter 4-3-2020 Dear Stuart Parents, Guardians, and Students,                  Stuart School wants to thank all of you for being patient during the past couple of weeks while we were receiving the expectations, recommendations, and guidelines from the Oklahoma State Department of Education regarding the construction of our district’s Distance Learning Plan.             The goals of our Distance Learning Plan are (1.)To provide our families with materials that will review pertinent material covered throughout the year and to allow students to cover additional material that would have been covered in their traditional classroom if we were to have been able to remain in school the rest of the academic year. (2.) Allow our students to either maintain the grade they had in each of their classes at the end of the 3rd 9 weeks grading period, or possibly raise their grade by successfully completing sufficient work during the last few weeks of the school year.         Students will either work online or will be given paper and pencil assignments to meet the criteria of our district’s Distance Learning Plan. Online students will need to utilize the following web resources to cover the suggested material for their classes: www.studyisland.com    HS students should log in with their Stuart school username and password. Elementary students can have their parents create a FREE account for them by using the link provided on our school app. *you may contact Stuart school if you need your child’s login information.         www.ixl.com Both Elementary and HS students can login using their Stuart school username and password to access their grade level courses *you may contact Stuart school if you need your child’s login information. www.abcmouse.com Elementary students in grades Pre-K through 8 can have their parents create a FREE account for them by using the link provided on our school app. ***Be sure to check our school website for specific assignments in study island & ixl from Mr. Homer, Mrs. Clark, & other teachers. Recommended work schedule for students completing online studies:   Students are expected to complete 3 topics/Lessons of 20 questions minimum in each of their core subject areas (Ex. Math, Reading/ELA, Science, Social Studies) weekly for a minimum of 60 questions per subject per week on their school Study Island or IXL accounts. Recommended work schedule for students completing paper and pencil work: Students are expected to complete a minimum of 3-4 worksheets/assignments/bookwork in each of their core subject areas (Ex. Math, Reading/ELA, Science, Social Studies) weekly for a minimum of 60 questions per subject per week. Some worksheets may not have 20 questions so just strive for the 60 questions per subject per week.) . Students will be given a manila folder to return completed work/assignments.  Do not return any books or unused portions of workbooks.  Just return the completed assignments.  Any additional materials can be used during the summer to work with your children or they can be thrown away as the books are being cycled out this school year. Online work and Paper/Pencil assignments are due on May 12th. We understand this is a trying and stressful time and parents, now, more than ever, we need your help.  Please be involved in your child’s lessons.  Please reach out to our teachers for help.  All teachers will be available for parents & students to contact regarding questions associated with their assignments.  We know online and over-the-phone help is not the same as sitting face to face with a teacher, but we must do the best we can and make the most out of the situation we are in.  Please contact Stuart school if you do not have a contact number for your child’s teacher.  Together we are stronger and we know that we will persevere!

Since the public libraries are closed and checking out a physical book isn’t possible, here is an alternative. The Internet Archive website https://archive.org/ has over 20 million of downloadable books and texts available for free. There is also a collection of over a million modern e-books that can be borrowed by anyone with a free archive.org account. You can create an account at https://archive.org/account/login and borrow a book for 14 days. You may read the books online in your browser or download them into Adobe Digital Editions, which is a software program used for reading e-books on a variety of different devices. For more information, go to the FAQ page that is available at https://help.archive.org/hc/en-us.

Beginning this Friday, April 3rd, grades pre-k through four, along with students for all other grades who do not have connectivity to the internet or a device to do online work will need to pick up student work from 8 a.m. until 2 pm. We ask that you drive up and we will bring out their work. Please stay in your vehicles and stay in line. We are allowing no entrance into the school to protect our cafeteria staff who are providing meals for students. We are only giving work at this time. Upon the CDC giving the all clear, we will choose a date this summer for people to come get their child's belongings from their classroom or locker and we will schedule prom and graduation ceremonies at that time. Thank you for your cooperation and all of your prayers!

On the News page on our website we have listed some links from the OSDE for our Teachers and Parents. Please go on and look at these as they have some very good information.

By the end of next week, Stuart school will be contacting parents to schedule times to come pick up items from students lockers. Any students who do not have connectivity will also have packaged work that parents can pick up at that time. Please do not bring students with you when you come to pick these items up. Again, these times will be scheduled as we cannot have numerous people at the school. Thank you for your help and prayers during this time.
