The Regional Softball tournament has been pushed back until tomorrow. We will finish the Wister-Cyril game at 11am and Strorher will play the loser of that game as soon as we get the field ready. All teams need to be ready to play 15 minutes after the completion of the game before them. Tickets from Thursday are still good tomorrow. If our field is too wet, we will move to the Complex at McAlester, same times.

To attend the regional softball tournament tomorrow and Friday at Stuart, you must buy tickets online at OSSAA.com. Click on the red square that says 2021 FastPitch Regional playoffs. You will then have to scroll way down until you find "Class A Fastpitch Regional Stuart Thursday". Cluck on that and choose the number of tickets. Once you pay, you will save the tickets on your phone. They will also email you a confirmation. Tickets are good for only one day, so if you wish to come Friday, you will have to repeat the action for Friday's tickets. We will have a laptop set up to assist if you are having problems.

The Stuart Board of Education has discussed and approved a revision to our Quarantine Policy under the Safe Return Plan. With proof of COVID-19 vaccination, a positive antibodies test, or documentation of a positive COVID-19 test within the past 90 days, no quarantine is required if a student has been in close-contact of a positive case and is experiencing no symptoms. Otherwise, the student may return to school with documentation of a negative test after 48 hours of last exposure, return on day 3. If the student does not test and is experiencing no symptoms, they may return on day 5. With symptoms, the previous policy still applies.

Stuart School has purchased a group insurance policy for accidental bodily injury incurred while the student is (A) attending regular school sessions, (B) participating in or attending school-sponsored and supervised extra curricular activities, (C) practicing or competing in school sponsored and supervised interscholastic sports for Jr. High and High School students, and (D) traveling directly to and from regular school sessions and while traveling to and from school sponsored and supervised extracurricular activities and interscholastic sports while in school provided transportation. Information is available on the school website and there is information and a form to fill out if you would like to purchase additional 24hr coverage. Stuart School has nothing to do with the additional coverage and it would be a contract between the parents and Student Assurance Services.

Welcome back to school!!! School begins tomorrow at 8am. Again this year, we are faced with the reality that people will be exposed to and some will test positive with COVID-19. At this time, State Law prohibits school districts from mandating a policy requiring students to wear masks. Stuart School does not require that students wear a mask upon returning, but we do recommend that all people wear a mask inside the building as numbers of COVID cases are on the rise. We will also be temperature screening all who enter the building. On our website and Facebook page, you can find a flow chart that will explain what to do if your child contracts the virus or is exposed to the virus. There are 3 choices you, as parents, can make regarding the length of time your child will have to quarantine. These choices range from possibly no time to 14 days from a positive test. (Vaccinated individuals may not have to quarantine. Read through the flow chart and scenarios chart on the website and Facebook page.) If students are exposed, please contact the school, tell us what your choice for quarantine is, and we will get your child set up with work for the duration of their quarantine. Please talk to your children about maintaining social distance and the importance of hand washing and covering a cough or sneeze. By working together, hopefully we can stop the spread of this and other viruses and be able to stay in school.
