Just a reminder that we have moved the start date of school to Thursday August 20th. If at all possible, we ask that you bring your child to school. If not, we will maintain social distancing and students will wear a mask on the bus. Kiamichi Technology Center begins classes tomorrow, August 12th. The Career Tech bus will be by our school at 7:40 a.m. and return about 11:40 a.m. KTC strongly encourages students to begin class tomorrow even if the home school isn't in session. Instead of coming to the school, students may either drive themselves or have parents drop them off at KTC. KTC requires students to wear a mask on the bus and on their campus. Sophomore and Junior enrolment are Monday August 17 from 9a.m. until 2p.m.

Stuart public schools had an employee test positive for covid-19 today. This employee was at physicals Monday and at Enrollment Tuesday evening. We are canceling enrollment for this evening and tomorrow, as well as all athletic events for the remainder of this week, with next week's activities to be determined at a later time. The possibility of students being infected was very minimal as they did not spend enough time nor were they in close contact with the person. We are simply letting everyone know and taking precautions to make sure we keep our school family safe and healthy. It is in everyone's best interest to take temperature checks daily and monitor yourselves and your children for any other symptoms.

With Enrollment and baseball and softball practice under way, it is vitally important that any student or adult who does not feel well take precautions and avoid coming into contact with other students or staff. There are several schools who are canceling activities and even students and staff at other schools being hospitalized as we are starting to come back together. We must work together in order to be able to resume school on August 17th.

Every Native American tribe has received CARES Act money. We have received information from the Choctaw nation and it is posted on our website and Facebook page. You may want to check with your tribe if you are a member and find out how they are allotting money to each student that is a tribal member.
